Mission Statement

Inspire childhood literacy. Serve our communities with compassion. Be the difference.

Vision Statement

To support and serve the North Charleston, SC community and surrounding areas with childhood literacy awareness.

Our Purpose

Provide children in underprivileged communities with books that will represent them, their communities and light a flame that will bring them a lifelong love for reading.

mission statement broken down

Inspire childhood literacy

Serve our communities with compassion.

Serve our communities with compassion.

According to the South Carolina Dept of Education, 51% of students K-8 in CCSD are reading below grade level.  We feel that if more children were provided books they related to or represented their interests, they would not only enjoy reading books but would also learn to read early.

Serve our communities with compassion.

Serve our communities with compassion.

Serve our communities with compassion.

We serve the North Charleston, SC and surrounding areas by having monthly book giveaways as well as attending community events.  We also go into classrooms to expose children of color to books that they would not normally be able to obtain.

Be the difference.

Serve our communities with compassion.

Be the difference.

Our goal is to spark the flame that will ignite a love for reading in every child we meet one book at a time.
